The Executive Chairman of Etche Local Government Council, Hon. Chima Njoku, has rewarded a first class law graduate of Etche extraction, Barr. Bright Ogunka, with a cash gift of ₦1 million in recognition of his outstanding academic achievements.

Bright Ogunka, a native of Umuchoko in Obibi, Etche Local Government Area, received the reward on Monday at the Etche Council Secretariat.

Ogunka graduated with a First Class degree from the Faculty of Law, Rivers State University during the 2022/2023 academic session and also earned another First Class at the Nigerian Law School.

Presenting the cash gift, Hon. Njoku commended the young lawyer for his resilience, discipline, and dedication to academic excellence, describing him as a role model for youths in Etche and beyond.

The council chairman said the local government would continue to recognize and support individuals who distinguish themselves positively through hard work and commitment.

According to him, Ogunka’s achievements have brought honour and recognition to the Etche nation, while stressing that education remains a major tool for societal transformation.

He also encouraged students across the local government area to remain focused and committed to their studies despite prevailing challenges.
Ogunka was accompanied to the event by his father, Mr. Ogunka.
