A windstorm accompanied by heavy rainfall has damaged parts of the Kugbo Bus Terminal in Nyanya, Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has confirmed.

Lere Olayinka, media aide to the FCT Minister in a statement issued on Tuesday, said the storm, which occurred a few hours earlier, also caused minor damage to the Nyanya pedestrian bridge and some nearby buildings.

He stated that preliminary reports indicate that no casualties were recorded and no vehicles were affected by the incident.

In response, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has ordered the immediate deployment of security personnel to the area to maintain law and order and ensure the free flow of traffic.

The FCTA further stated that steps would be taken promptly to repair the damaged structures.
