Hon. Prince Isaac Umejuru has dismissed as false and misleading a viral social media publication alleging that he was directed to mobilise stakeholders in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA) to pressure the Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, into replacing the Deputy Governor, Prof. Ngozi Nma Odu.
The allegation, which circulated on platforms including Port Harcourt Force and Inside Port Harcourt, claimed that Umejuru was involved in a political move aimed at undermining the office of the Deputy Governor.
Reacting to the report, Umejuru described the claims as baseless and lacking credibility, warning that such misinformation has the potential to mislead the public and heighten political tension in the state.
He categorically denied the allegation, stating that he was neither instructed by any individual nor involved in any plan to pressure the governor or destabilise the current administration.
“At no point was I directed to mobilise any stakeholders for such a purpose, nor have I supported or participated in any effort aimed at undermining the office or person of the Deputy Governor,” he said.
Umejuru reaffirmed his loyalty and respect for Prof. Ngozi Nma Odu, whom he described as a distinguished leader and mentor, commending her contributions to governance and her commitment to peace and development in Rivers State.
He stressed his opposition to any agenda capable of causing division or instability, noting that he would not associate himself with actions that could undermine the state’s leadership.
The lawmaker urged members of the public to disregard the publication, describing it as a deliberate attempt to spread falsehood and create unnecessary discord.
He reiterated his commitment to unity, loyalty, and the continued progress of Rivers State.
