Nollywood actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has expressed frustration over the lack of residuals and royalties from her three decades in the Nigerian film industry.
The actress, who compared her experience in Nollywood with her relatively short stint in Hollywood, said she has received regular payments for her work in Hollywood but has never received a similar payment from Nollywood.
Omotola said she has worked in Hollywood for about five years and regularly receives envelopes containing residuals and royalties from her projects.
She contrasted this with her 30-year career in Nollywood, noting that she has never received a single envelope containing such payments.
“I’ve only worked in Hollywood for five years, yet I constantly receive envelopes containing my residuals and royalties. I’ve worked in Nollywood for 30 years and have never received a single envelope. Maybe they don’t know where I live,” she said.
