The 103rd National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Gov Seyi Makinde-led Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has approved the appointment and inauguration of an Interim National Working Committee (INWC) to oversee the party’s affairs.
The decision, reached by a two-thirds majority of NEC members on Monday, follows a recent judgment by the Supreme Court of Nigeria. Party leaders say the move is aimed at strengthening internal administration and ensuring strict adherence to constitutional provisions.
The newly constituted INWC has been mandated to manage the party’s executive operations with immediate effect, pending further directives.
Heading the interim leadership is Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, who will serve as Chairman, while Arapaja Taofeek Gboladejo assumes the role of Secretary.
Other members of the committee include Alhaji Hamza Akuyam Koshe, Dr. Daniel Ambrose Woyengikuro, Ihediwa Richard Nnabugwu, Isa Abubakar, Okechukwu Obiechina Daniel, Hon. Theophilus Dakas Shan, Comrade Ini Ememobong, Aribisala Adewale Idowu, Bara’u Shafi’i, Ogbu Anthonia Chinenyenwa, and Hon. Umar Dan Aji.
The PDP described the development as a crucial step toward maintaining stability and preserving the structural integrity of the party amid ongoing political developments.
The party reaffirmed its commitment to its democratic ideals, reiterating its slogan: “Power to the People.”
