President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of 26 individuals into the boards and leadership of 10 federal government agencies and commissions, with the appointments taking immediate effect.
According to a statement issued on Monday by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, was appointed Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), while Major General Junaid Bindawa was named Chairman of the National Salaries and Wages Commission.
The REA board also includes Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Engineer Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta as members and non-executive directors. The agency’s Director-General, Abba Abubakar Aliyu, alongside three previously appointed executive directors, will serve on the board.
For the National Salaries and Wages Commission, President Tinubu appointed former House of Representatives member, Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas, as Secretary. Other appointees include Dr Ogbole Ene Lilian, Oladele Olatubosun and Yakubu Umar Barde as commissioners representing Benue, Oyo and Kaduna states, respectively. Dr Mai Adamu Yau, Ginika Florence Tor, Engineer Lawrence Okoh and Bello Morenike Iyabode were also appointed as members.
The Presidency said all the appointments take immediate effect.
