Former Governor of Rivers State, Dr. Peter Odili, has dismissed as false a media report alleging that he made disparaging remarks about the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Martin Amaewhule, and other political leaders.
Odili, in an official disclaimer signed by his Media Adviser, Dr. Emma Okah, described the report authored by Donald Lezua Degbara as fabricated and malicious.
He stated that he never made the statements attributed to him in the publication, stressing that the comments did not emanate from his office or media team.
The former governor urged members of the public, political stakeholders and the media to disregard the report, describing it as an attempt by mischief-makers to mislead the public and create unnecessary political tension.
Odili reaffirmed his commitment to peace, unity and the development of Rivers State and Nigeria.
