The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has recorded a significant political boost as three serving members of the House of Representatives formally defected to the party during plenary on Tuesday.
The lawmakers — Thaddeus Attah (Eti-Osa, Lagos), Usman Zubairu (Kaduna), and Sani Noma (Kebbi) — announced their departures from the Labour Party (LP), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and the All Progressives Congress (APC), respectively.
The defections mark a major milestone for the ADC, which described the move as a strong endorsement of its growing national influence.
In a statement signed by Comrade Chika Idoko, Special Adviser on Press and Media Relations, the party said the lawmakers’ decision reflects increasing public trust in its vision for a reformed Nigeria.
“This bold and decisive move is a clear vote of confidence in the ADC’s rising national appeal, people-centered ideology, and unwavering commitment to rescuing Nigeria from failed leadership and broken promises,” the statement read.
The party further noted that the development signals what it termed a “growing national awakening,” as more Nigerians align with what it described as a credible alternative focused on justice, equity, youth inclusion, and sustainable development.
Reaffirming its position as one of the fastest-growing political platforms in the country, the ADC said the latest defections strengthen its resolve to build a united, progressive, and people-driven nation.
The party welcomed the new members and assured them of a platform rooted in integrity, fairness, and transformational leadership, adding that “the time for a new Nigeria is now.”
