Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of former Director-General of the State Security Service (SSS), Chief Albert K. Horsfall.
In a condolence message issued on Sunday, Governor Fubara described Horsfall as a patriot, disciplinarian and distinguished son of Rivers State who served Nigeria with dedication, professionalism and integrity.
Fubara said Horsfall’s contributions to national security and stability remained a benchmark for those who came after him.
The governor described the late former SSS boss as an elder statesman, mentor and proud ambassador of Rivers State’s values of service, honour and excellence.
“We have lost a patriot, a bridge-builder, and a man of integrity,” Fubara said.
He extended his condolences to the immediate family, the Horsfall family of Buguma, the security community and Nigerians mourning the loss.
Fubara prayed that God would grant the deceased eternal rest and give the family the strength to bear the loss.
He also urged that Horsfall’s legacy of service and patriotism continue to inspire future generations.
