The Omega Power Ministry (OPM) Church has pledged continued support to the University of Port Harcourt, while congratulating Professor Chike Princewill R. Chike on his appointment as the institution’s 10th Vice-Chancellor.
The Founder and General Overseer of OPM, Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere, made the commitment during a visit to the university, expressing confidence that the Vice-Chancellor would replicate the achievements recorded during his tenure as Rivers State Commissioner for Health.
Apostle Chinyere said OPM would engage the university management to identify a project that would make a meaningful impact on the university community.
He also noted that beneficiaries of the OPM scholarship scheme are currently studying at the University of Port Harcourt, describing the institution as a university with national reach and a strong reputation for academic excellence.
Responding, Vice-Chancellor Professor Chike commended OPM for its humanitarian interventions, particularly its support for indigent and vulnerable members of society.
He expressed appreciation for the church’s contributions to education and welcomed the proposed partnership between OPM and the University of Port Harcourt.
