The Rivers State Police Command has launched the “Know Your Number Campaign” to promote preventive healthcare among police personnel, their families, and members of the public.
The initiative, organised by the Rivers Police Medical Services in partnership with Healthlink and Bridge Initiative and the Police Health Maintenance Organisation (Police HMO), is aimed at encouraging regular medical check-ups for the early detection and prompt treatment of health conditions.
The campaign was flagged off at the Command Headquarters on Moscow Road, Port Harcourt, where participants received free health screenings, including blood pressure checks, haemoglobin tests, urinalysis, and other vital health assessments. Health education sessions on healthy living and general well-being were also conducted.
Speaking at the event, the Commissioner of Police, Rivers State Command, CP Olugbenga Adewole Adepoju, represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations, DCP Alhasan Kawu Yahaya, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to the welfare of its personnel and the public.
He stressed that regular medical check-ups are essential to maintaining a healthy, alert, and effective police workforce capable of delivering quality service.
The police commissioner also commended the Rivers Police Medical Services, Healthlink and Bridge Initiative, and the Police HMO for supporting the initiative, describing it as timely, impactful, and worthy of emulation.
According to him, the campaign aligns with the welfare-driven vision of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, who has continued to prioritise the health and well-being of officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force.
The Rivers State Police Command urged residents to embrace preventive healthcare by undergoing regular medical checks as a vital step towards healthier and more productive living.
