The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described the upcoming 2027 general elections as a direct contest between President Bola Tinubu and the worsening living conditions of Nigerians.
PDP Acting National Chairman, Ambassador Umar Damagum, made the statement on Thursday in Abuja while presenting a Certificate of Return to Ezenwafor Jude, the party’s candidate for the Anambra State governorship election.
Damagum emphasized that the election would not be determined by political structures or party leaders but by the everyday struggles of ordinary Nigerians. “This election in 2027 is not about how many governors you have or how many leaders. It’s about Tinubu and Nigerians,” he said.
He further asserted that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is in opposition to the people, not rival politicians. “It’s not APC versus any governor or senator or anything, but APC versus Nigerians,” Damagum said, urging citizens to unite in the face of economic hardship, which he claimed was “inflicted by design.”
