The Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH) will conduct a free eye screening exercise for its staff as part of activities marking World Sight Day 2026.
The exercise, organised by the hospital’s Department of Ophthalmology, is aimed at promoting eye health and encouraging early detection of conditions that could lead to avoidable blindness.
The 2026 World Sight Day theme, “Love Your Eyes,” calls on people to prioritise their eye health and take steps to protect their vision.
It said, the screening will hold on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at the IDU Hall, RSUTH, from 9:00 a.m.
The event is hosted by the Chief Medical Director of RSUTH, Prof. Chizindu A. Alikor.
The hospital urged all staff to participate in the exercise, with the organisers stressing the importance of early detection in preserving sight.
