The Rivers State Government says over 1,500 covid-19 tests are carried out in the state, on a daily basis.
State Commissioner for Health, Prof. Princewill Chike said this in a chat with journalists today, while updating residents on measures put in place to curb the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
He noted that the state Ministry of Health has redoubled its effort in surveillance, containment and sensitizing the people about the virus, with support from the State Governor.
He appealed to residents of the state to continue to obey all covid protocols and make themselves available for the jab, adding that the virus is real.
Chike, also appealed to media houses to continue its sensitization campaign, as some persons are still of the opinion that it does not exist.
The commissioner, advised residents to take care of their loved ones when they are sick and not wait for them to die before bringing out money for befitting burial.
