President Bola Tinubu will visit Port Harcourt as part of his re-election campaign activities following the flag-off of the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign in Kaduna on October 24.
Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, disclosed this while outlining plans for the president’s campaign tour across the country.
Yari said the campaign would begin with an inaugural meeting on October 14 at the State House Banquet Hall, Abuja, followed by the flag-off in Kaduna on October 24.
“By God’s grace, on the 24th of October, we’re going to do our flag-off campaign in Kaduna, and then we outlined our state visits to each and every place where we will go, and then the President has approved them,” he said.
He added that Tinubu’s campaign team would proceed to Port Harcourt after the Kaduna event before travelling to Maiduguri.
“From there we will be in Maiduguri. We have the timetable, and we’re going to make it available after the inauguration,” Yari said.
The campaign director-general expressed confidence in Tinubu’s re-election prospects, arguing that the president had considerable political support in both northern and southern Nigeria.
He claimed Tinubu had support in more than 10 states in each region, adding that a presidential candidate needed a strong political base across the country to win an election.
Yari also defended Tinubu’s administration, saying it had made progress in addressing the economic challenges inherited by the government.
“We are not promising. We are doing it, and we are going to continue,” he said.
