The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has announced that the price of petrol could rise above N1,150 per litre at its members’ filling stations nationwide.
Chinedu Ukadike, the Association’s spokesperson, disclosed this in a statement on Friday, attributing the increase to the recent surge in crude oil prices.
Ukadike explained that the price hike would vary by location, with commuters in remote areas likely paying over N1,150 per litre, while those near depots could pay N1,100 due to added logistics costs of about N50.
He noted that the current ex-depot price has risen to N980, emphasizing that the increase is immediate and will affect pricing across the country.
