Hon. Nature Kieghe has emerged as the governorship candidate of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) for the forthcoming Rivers State governorship election.
Kieghe was presented with his Certificate of Return in Abuja on Wednesday, where he pledged to tackle youth-related challenges, insecurity, cultism, and criminality across the state if elected.
In a statement shortly after receiving the certificate, the PRP candidate said the party’s mission to transform Rivers State had only just begun.
“We can’t be alive and allow the lives of young people to continue to be destroyed. The RESCUE mission has only just begun. In the Rivers State of my dream, violent extremism, cultism and criminality will have no breeding place. We will get every indigenous youth positively engaged so that they can contribute meaningfully to the growth of Rivers State. Every joint must supply goodness,” he stated.
Kieghe is expected to arrive in Port Harcourt today, where supporters and party members are anticipated to receive him following his emergence as the party’s flag bearer.
With his emergence, the Rivers governorship race is expected to become more competitive, as he joins a growing list of aspirants and candidates seeking to lead the state. Among those expected to feature prominently in the contest are Hon. Kingsley Chinda of the PDP, Gabriel Pidomson of the ADC, Soni Ejekwu of the PDP, and Dumo Lulu-Briggs of the NDC, among others.
