The Chairman of Khana Local Government Area, Dr. Thomas Bariere, has condemned the killing of Mr. Letam Kine, popularly known as Langa, describing the attack as a senseless act of violence and calling for the immediate arrest and prosecution of those responsible.
In a statement issued by the Director of Press and Public Communications, Barry Neemana, the chairman expressed concern over the rising insecurity in the area, noting that the killing occurred only weeks after the murder of Mr. Clement Deegbara J. of Kpong Community.
According to Dr. Bariere, the repeated attacks suggest the activities of armed criminal gangs determined to undermine peace and security in Khana.
He urged security agencies to intensify operations across the local government and conduct a thorough investigation into the murder of Letam Kine to ensure that everyone connected to the crime is arrested and brought to justice.
The chairman also extended his condolences to the family of the deceased, praying for God to grant them the strength and comfort to bear the loss.
He appealed to residents of Khana to remain calm, vigilant, and law-abiding while supporting security agencies with credible and timely information that could aid ongoing investigations and prevent further criminal activities.
Dr. Bariere reaffirmed that the protection of lives and property remains a top priority of his administration, adding that the council would continue to work with security agencies, traditional rulers, community leaders, and other stakeholders to strengthen security and ensure that criminal elements have no hiding place in the local government.
He also prayed for the peaceful repose of the late Letam Kine and reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensuring justice is served and lasting peace is maintained across Khana Local Government Area.
