Pastor David Ibiyeomie, founder of Salvation Ministries has warned internet fraudsters against bringing proceeds from their activities as offerings to the church.
Ibiyeomie, while addressing his congregation, described “Yahoo” — a term commonly used in Nigeria to refer to internet fraud — as stealing and said the church would not accept money obtained through such means.
According to the pastor, anyone involved in internet fraud should keep their money rather than offer it to the church.
“Yahoo is stealing. If you’re in this church and you’re among Yahoo people, please don’t give your offering here, we don’t need it,” Ibiyeomie said.
He also recounted the experience of a professor who was allegedly defrauded of all his money, saying the incident had a devastating effect on his friend and eventually led to his death.
The pastor used the story to emphasise the consequences of fraudulent activities and urged members of the congregation to avoid obtaining wealth through illegal means.
