Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, says he had never accused former Governor of the state and current Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Amaechi of being corrupt.
Wike in an interview few days ago said it was a legally constituted Judicial Commission of Inquiry that indicted Amaechi for misappropriating over $308 million.
He said the commission, clearly stated that the money was realized from the sale of assets of the state, and that the Minister, had challenged the ruling of the JCI, at a Federal High Court and Court of Appeal and lost.
Wike said the judicial commission, also indicted his predecessor’s dministration for allegedly misappropriating N54bn on the abandoned 1.4 kilometer monorail project in Port Harcourt.
He said despite Amaechi’s indictment by the JCI, the Federal Government has continued to shield him from prosecution.
