Rivers State recorded 3 new cases of COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 6,855 with 6,644 discharged and 98 deaths.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of COVID-19.

In total, Nigeria recorded 86 new Cases. FCT recorded the highest number with – 33, Lagos-28, Ondo-11, Kano-7, Akwa Ibom-3, Rivers-3 and Kaduna-1.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 161,737 with 147,899 recovered patients, and 2,030 deaths.

Meanwhile the NCDC has said that the Astrazeneca vaccine is safe and has no side effects.
