AWARDS OVER TWO MILLION NAIRA SCHOLARSHIPS
The Caretaker Committee Chairman of Etche Local Government Area, Hon. Barr. John Ngubo Otamiri, on Friday, officially launched the second phase of his empowerment program.
The event featured the presentation of official vehicles to the six members of the Etche Local Government Caretaker Committee and operational vehicles to the three Divisional Police Officers in charge of Okehi, Umuebulu, and Ozuzu Divisions to enhance crime prevention.
Additionally, the Chairman presented a vehicle to his Chief Security Officer, Mr. Daniel Nwalele, and an operational vehicle to the Etche Security Planning and Advisory Committee (ESPAC).
Five hundred bags of 50kg rice were also distributed across the nineteen political wards of Etche.
In a surprise move, the Chairman announced educational incentives totaling five hundred thousand Naira each to five Etche indigenes who excelled in the 2024 JAMB examination, representing the five clans of Igboh, Mba, Okehi, Ozuzu, and Ulakwo/Umuselem.
The presentations were performed by the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Victor Oko-Jumbo, representing the Rivers State Governor, Sir. Siminalayi Fubara.
The event was attended by dignitaries, including present and former House of Assembly Members, Caretaker Committee Chairmen, leaders of the Simplified Movement in Rivers State, stakeholders, traditional rulers, and various women and youth groups.
