A Former member of the House of Representatives and governorship hopeful of the African Democratic Congress in Rivers State, Dr Farah Dagogo, says the state cannot afford “another four years of bondage,” as he unveiled his governance vision ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
Dagogo in a statement stated that Rivers State has witnessed a prolonged decline in governance and public administration, stressing that the people deserve a fresh direction anchored on accountability, transparency, and inclusive leadership.
According to him, his administration would be guided by the DISE framework — Diplomacy, Information, Security and Economy — aimed at revitalising key sectors of the economy and restoring public confidence in governance.
He said his priorities would include education reform, healthcare development, youth empowerment, security enhancement, agricultural modernisation, job creation, infrastructure renewal, housing development, and investment promotion.
The ADC governorship aspirant disclosed plans to establish a Youth Entrepreneurship Development Trust Fund backed by legislation, with at least five per cent of the state’s annual capital budget allocated to supporting young entrepreneurs.
Dagogo also promised to promote STEAMS education — Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics and Sports — to equip young people with skills relevant to the modern economy.
On security, he pledged transparent deployment of security funds, insisting that such resources would no longer be used as political tools.
Speaking on the political tension in Rivers State, Dagogo said democracy must return power to the people rather than political godfathers and entrenched interests.
He added that his administration would focus on inclusive governance, stakeholder engagement and institutional respect, noting that Rivers State needs healing, reconciliation and restoration of democratic values.
