The Executive Chairman of Etche Local Government Council, Hon. Chima Boniface Njoku, has provided ₦5 million in financial assistance to two vulnerable residents of the area.
Njoku presented a ₦3 million cheque and a brand-new wheelchair to ASP Daniel Njoku of Amaku-Igbodo, an Etche indigene who was shot by unknown gunmen while on duty as a police officer.
He also appointed the police officer as one of his aides, as part of efforts to support his welfare.
In a separate gesture, the chairman presented a ₦2 million cheque to Mr. Samuel Onyenam Nweke of Umuechem, whose leg was amputated, to enable him to establish a business and become economically independent.
The beneficiaries expressed gratitude to Njoku, describing the assistance as timely and significant to improving their lives.
