TEXT: JUDGES 5:1-12
MEMORY VERSE:
“Let all Israel, rich and poor, join in his praises. Those who ride on white donkeys. And sit on rich carpets and those who are poor and must walk” Judges 5:10 TLB
0 And the apostles, when they had returned, told Him all that they had done. Then He took them and went aside privately into a deserted place belonging to the city called Bethsaida. 11 But when the multitudes knew it, they followed Him; and He received them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who had need of healing. 12 When the day began to wear away, the twelve came and said to Him, “Send the multitude away, that they may go into the surrounding towns and country, and lodge and get provisions; for we are in a deserted lace ”
Our text today is on songs of praise of Deborah to God; Praises are accolades, eulogies, commendation or glorification. Remembering past helps, victories and successes the praises freely flowed.
There is no limitation to people who will praise God, the rich, the poor, the millionaire, the billionaire. As long as the breath of life is still in you, you are to praise God.
- Psalms 115:17 says, “The dead praise not the Lord, neither any that go down in silence.” Praise is a way of showing appreciation to God.
- Appreciation is an attitude.
- It is an attitude of gratitude.
- It bestows you with beatitude.
- And elevates you to an altitude.
- Develop an attitude of gratitude!
Like Paul and Silas, let singing praise and glory to God be our resort in time of pain, sorrow or affliction. Like David, let our praises be habitual, a system in us that runs like the very blood in our veins. Psalm 33:1-3 says, “Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous! For praise from the upright is beautiful. Praise the Lord with the harp; Make melody to Him with an instrument of ten strings.
Sing to Him a new song; Play skillfully with a shout of joy.” Let praising God be like the very food we eat.
- How many times do you praise God in a day? What is your attitude to God in the time of difficulties?
- Lord, help me to develop the attitude of praise at all times.
