Former Southampton F.C. striker Victor Udoh has died at the age of 21 after being reportedly found dead under circumstances described as suspicious in Abuja, Nigeria. The exact cause of death has not yet been confirmed.
Udoh joined Southampton in February 2025 on a long-term deal but departed just seven months later by mutual consent in search of more regular playing time. He subsequently signed for Czech second-division side Dynamo Ceske Budejovice on a three-year contract in September 2025.
The forward began his European journey with Belgian club Royal Antwerp F.C. after moving from Abuja-based Hypebuzz at age 18. He impressed at youth level, scoring 12 goals in 21 appearances for the reserve team, before graduating to the first team, where he went on to make 28 appearances.
Southampton described the news as devastating, expressing deep sorrow over the passing of their former player and extending condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time.
