TEXT: LUKE 8:26-39
MEMORY VERSE: “Then they went up to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.”Luke 8:35 KJV
Our society is filled with men and women with all kinds of mindset and belief. Even the believer who probably may be a worker in the church would surprise you by the products of his mindset and belief system. The greatest miracle, as far as our faith work is involved, is the miracle of salvation where sinners are led to Jesus Christ. Often times, the church ends her evangelism by leading people to Christ. No doubt, this is a great achievement to celebrate but we should not stop there.
The greatest need of a believer is transformation. In Romans 12:1-2, while admonishing the Roman church, Apostle Paul began to discuss the need for a transformed mind. It is true that we have given our lives to Jesus but Jesus will not be glorified with this mindset of mediocrity, limitations, and defeat that we carry in us.
After delivering the mad man, Jesus did not stop there. He brought him under His teachings, a way to reconfigure his mindset away from what it used to be. Deliverance does not end with casting out devils. There is the deliverance that transforms our mindset, our thinking pattern, and belief system.
I believe that the most fertile place in human is not the ovaries, not the seamen, not the womb but the mind. Whatever is planted in the mind must find expression to grow into an unimaginable height.
In Genesis 11, Nimrod and that generation had conceived in his mind to build a tower unto the heavens. God saw that if He does not stop them, their ambitions was as good as done. Although the building was still ongoing, God decided to stop them.
As much as Jesus needs your heart, He needs your mind too. You cannot conquer territories for Jesus with your natural mindset; you can’t become what God has said you will be with this mindset. Rise to your feet and shake off that poisonous mindset that the devil is projecting in you. No! Don’t give it a chance. You can be what God has designed you for if only you will give Him your mind and allow Him remold, redefine, refine, and fine-tune it. Don’t settle for what people have said about you.
- No situation is beyond God’s transformation.
- Dear Lord, I subject myself under your undeniable power of transformation. Refine me for your use, in Jesus Name. Amen.
