Rivers State recorded 19 new cases of the COVID-19 yesterday. This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the state to 2,601 with 2,398 discharged and 59 deaths.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known on its Twitter handle, during its daily update of the COVID-19 in the country yesterday.
Nigeria recorded 118 new cases of the virus. Lagos State recorded the highest number of cases with – (41), Rivers (19), Osun (17), Nasarawa (13), Kaduna (5), Anambra (5), Edo (3), Ogun (3), Ondo (3), Katsina (2), Niger (2), Plateau (1), and Akwa Ibom (1).
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 59,583 with 51,308 and 1,113 deaths.
Meanwhile, the NCDC has warned Nigerians to continue practicing good respiratory hygiene so as to stop the further spread of the pandemic, which currently has no cure.
