A governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Tonye Cole, has alleged that Governor Sim Fubara became politically prominent only after his disagreement with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
Speaking as a guest on Channels TV, Cole stated that before the political crisis between the two leaders, many people did not know Governor Sim Fubara.
According to him, individuals who had long opposed the FCT Minister rallied around the governor after the fallout, leading to new political alliances.
Cole further argued that the governor’s current support base largely consists of people who were opposed to the political mandate that brought him to office.
He questioned whether those backing the governor would continue to stand by him in future political battles.
