The Supreme Court of Nigeria has reserved judgment in the appeal filed by David Mark concerning the leadership tussle within the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
A five-member panel led by Mohammed Garba announced on Wednesday that a date for the ruling would be communicated to counsel representing the parties.
The announcement followed the adoption of final written addresses by lawyers on both sides, who also urged the court to rule in their favour.
The appeal, marked SC/CV/180/2026, stems from a March 12 judgment of the Court of Appeal of Nigeria, which dismissed Mark’s case. The appellate court had affirmed an earlier decision by Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court of Nigeria, delivered on September 4, 2025.
In that ruling, Justice Nwite declined to grant interim reliefs sought through an ex-parte application filed by the factional National Chairman of the party, Nafiu Bala Gombe.
The case is part of the lingering leadership crisis within the ADC, as rival factions continue to contest control of the party.
