The federal government agency in charge of the management and control of diseases in the country, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), has said that there are now COVID-19 testing laboratories in every state of the federation including the FCT.
The commission disclosed this in a statement on its official Page yesterday, shortly after the Niger State Public Health Laboratory, was formally included in the NCDC Molecular Laboratory Network.
The commission, which has been at the forefront of the fight to end the COVID-19 pandemic in the country stated thus: “In 8 months, we have activated at least one laboratory for #COVID19 testing in all 36 +1 states of Nigeria.”
“We are pleased to announce the inclusion of the Niger State Public Health Laboratory, Minna to the NCDC Molecular Laboratory Network,” the statement read.
Prior to the announcement, Niger State was the only state without a public molecular testing center in the country.
