Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike has approved the promotion of 3,592 civil servants following the successful completion of the 2025 promotion exercise conducted by the FCT Civil Service Commission.
The announcement was made by the Chairman of the commission, Emeka Ezeh, who described the development as a reflection of the FCT Administration’s commitment to workers’ welfare in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
According to Ezeh, senior officers sat for their promotion examinations from July 1 to 3, while junior officers wrote theirs on July 10. He commended Wike for providing the support that enabled the commission to carry out the exercise effectively.
He also disclosed that the minister has directed the immediate commencement of the 2026 promotion exercise to ensure eligible workers are promoted without delay.
Ezeh said the directive is aimed at complementing the ongoing infrastructural transformation in the FCT with improved staff welfare and career development, ensuring civil servants also benefit from the administration’s achievements as President Tinubu marks his third year in office.
The promotions come as the FCT continues activities marking President Tinubu’s third anniversary, during which more than 30 projects were commissioned or flagged off between June 8 and July 17, 2026.
