The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Tony Okocha, has expressed confidence that Rivers State is on the path to political stability and improved governance following recent developments in the state’s political landscape, including the withdrawal of Governor Siminalyi Fubara from the governorship race.
Speaking during an interview, Okocha said the state is already witnessing relative peace and believes the political climate will continue to improve as stakeholders work together toward a common goal.
He urged Rivers people to look forward to a new era of peace, tranquility, infrastructural development and good governance.
“There will be relative peace in the polity. Everybody within our political family will be on board, and Rivers State will begin to experience good governance again,” Okocha said.
The APC chairman further maintained that the emerging political coalition being championed by his camp and led by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, would provide the leadership needed to advance the state, describing it as the political structure poised to take the driver’s seat in the affairs of Rivers State.
