The Supreme Court will schedule a hearing date for the suit filed by 11 governors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) contesting the declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State after its Easter vacation, The PUNCH has learned.
Speaking on the matter, the Director of Information and Public Relations at the Supreme Court, Dr. Festus Akande, confirmed that the case would be addressed once the court resumes at the end of April.
“The court is currently on vacation. A date for the hearing will be fixed when the Justices return,” Akande stated.
The case, registered as SC/CV/329/2025, challenges the constitutional powers of President Bola Tinubu to suspend an elected state government.
