Rivers State Collation Officer for the Presidential election, Prof Teddy Charles Adias had accused supporters of the Labour Party of being behind threats to his life.
Adias, a Vice Chancellor of the Federal University Otuoke, accused supporters of the Labour party of being the masterminds behind the threats and expressed surprise why anyone would threaten him when he has no hands in the results.
The State Collation Officer, Charles Adia also read out several social media life-threatening messages tagged him and called on INEC to assure him of his security and inform the public that he has no business with the conduct of the elections before he can resume collation.
On his part, the Police Commissioner in charge of the Presidential and National Assembly Elections in Rivers State, CP Aderemi Adeoye who was present at the briefing assured the collation officer of his safety during and after the collation exercise.
