The judgement in a suit by former Rivers State governor, Chibuike Amaechi, seeking to stop his probe by the state government for alleged fraudulent sales of valued assets belonging to the state has been fixed on May 27 by the Supreme Court.
The judgement date was announced by Justice, Olukayode Ariwoola, who led a seven-man panel of Justices of the Court.
This was after listening to arguments for and against the suit by counsels.
Amaechi, who is being accused of fraudulently selling off assets belonging to the state, is praying the Supreme court to prohibit Governor, Nyesom Wike from investigating his tenure.
According to him, it was aimed at witch-hunting him, due to his political differences with his successor.
Some of the assets the former governor was accused of selling includes, the Afam Gas Turbine Omoku Gas Turbine, Trans Amadi Gas Turbine, Eleme Gas Turbine and Olympia Hotel.
