The Federal Fire Service in Rivers State, says faulty electrical appliances are the most causes of fire outbreaks in the state.
Spokesperson of the Service, Abdullahi Audu said it has put out more than 40 fires in the last three months.
He explained that in September, 19 fires were put out while in October and November, 12 and 6 fires were out out respectively.
He stated that the recent fire outbreaks in the state, were linked to illegal storage of petroleum products and urged residents to desist from the act.
Mr Abdullahi, also advised residents of the state to own and learn how to use fire extinguishers to be able to fight fire.
He said fire extinguishers should be serviced every six months as it expires after the duration.
