The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC in Rivers State, has called on residents to report those using their properties as illegal oil dumps.
Spokesperson of the command, Michael Oguntashe in a statement yesterday, blamed those using their homes as dumps for the recent fire outbreaks in the state.
He said reporting such illegal activities will help reduce fire outbreaks in the state.
He also said people should not be scared to report such illegal activities, as he assured them of their safety
Mr Michael explained that if the affected places were reported the disaster would have been averted.
He furthermore, explained that over 100 suspects linked to oil bunkering have been arrested, and that they will be prosecuted in accordance with the laws of the land.
