FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has revealed that he invited Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara to a meeting last week as part of efforts to consolidate peace in the state.
Wike made this known during a media chat, where he declared that the political crisis in Rivers State had ended, describing the peace in the state as “final and total.”
The minister said the peace was not a temporary arrangement or an attempt to manage the political differences that had divided the state’s political camps.
According to him, the return of peace has surprised many, particularly given the depth of disagreements between the rival political groups.
Wike also pointed to developments in the Rivers State House of Assembly as evidence of the improved political atmosphere, noting that the legislature was close to passing the 2026 Appropriation Bill into law.
On the Rainbow Coalition, the FCT Minister said the political platform had succeeded in bringing different political interests in the state together.
He added that the coalition is united in support of President Bola Tinubu while operating on a structure designed to prevent any single political party from controlling everything.
