Five tankers conveying suspected stolen diesel has been impounded by the Commandant-General’s Special Antivandal Monitoring Unit (CG’s SAVMU) of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), in Rivers State
Brah Samson, the Unit Commander of the squad in the state, said operatives intercepted and seized the illegal product over the weekend.
He said the trucks were impounded at Abuloma in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area.
According to him, the command swung into action upon arrival in the state. He noted that they are committed to ensuring that oil theft becomes a thing of the past.
“The CG’S SAVMU upon arrival in Rivers State swung into action and impounded the trucks at Abuloma, Port Harcourt City Local Government Area of Rivers State,” he said.
“The Commandant-General, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi in his renewed vigour to combat the menace of illegal dealings in petroleum products across the federation did inaugurate the CG’s Special Antivandal Monitoring Unit (CG’s SAVMU) to enhance the protection of all Critical National Assets and Infrastructure in the nation,” he added.
