Leaders in Rivers State have purchased the governorship expression of interest and nomination forms for Governor Siminalayi Fubara, signalling support for his potential re-election bid.
The group, which includes the lawmaker representing Andoni-Opobo/Nkoro Federal Constituency, Rep. Abiante, alongside former Leader of the Rivers State House of Assembly and former Commissioner for Education, Hon. Tamunosisi Gogo Jaja, made the purchase under the auspices of the Rivers Elders Forum.
According to the leaders, the move reflects the wishes and aspirations of the people of Rivers State, who they say are calling on the governor to continue leading the state and stabilising its political environment.
They expressed confidence in Fubara’s performance over the past three years, noting that he has demonstrated the capacity to move the state forward. The forum also endorsed his re-election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In addition, the group pledged support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, urging Nigerians to back his administration for continuity at the federal level.
