A Port Harcourt journalist, Chinedu Orlu Orlu has raised an alarm over threats to his life after officers of the State Criminal Investigation Department forcefully used him to arrest the Community Development Chairman of Rumuadolu, Kingsley Nwoko.
Chinedu in a statement yesterday, said while he was on the phone with a lady who wanted to meet with him, six men blocked him; introduced themselves as Police officers, seized his phone and forcefully took him inside their vehicle and ordered him to call Mr. Nwoko.
He said at first, he refused but they threatened to shoot him, and also detain him until he is willing to cooperate.
According to him, he only met the CDC chairman three weeks ago to run a story for him.
He explained that they took him to Rumuaholu Police station and forcefully made him to call Mr. Nwoko – who came out and was arrested.
Chinedu stated that since then, he has been receiving death threats and called on the government to intervene on the matter.
