Former Minister of Transportation and presidential aspirant of the African Democratic Congress, Rotimi Amaechi, has criticised the administration of President Bola Tinubu over the worsening economic situation in the country.
Amaechi spoke on Thursday shortly after submitting his presidential nomination forms at the national headquarters of the African Democratic Congress in Abuja. The former Rivers State governor stated that Nigerians were facing severe hardship due to policies introduced by the current administration, noting that citizens were bearing the brunt of the economic challenges.
He called on voters to focus on competence, experience and performance in the 2027 presidential election rather than ethnic or regional sentiments.
Amaechi stated that those seeking the office of president should be evaluated based on their records in public office, insisting that leadership should be determined by proven performance.
The former minister also argued that he possesses the experience and capacity required to defeat the incumbent and reposition Nigeria.
