The Association of Bus Conductors in Rivers State says it is planning to introduce a uniform for commercial bus conductors across the state to help curb “one-chance” robbery incidents.
The Chairman of the association, Michael Glory, made this known on Thursday in Port Harcourt.
According to him, the uniform would make conductors easily identifiable and help passengers distinguish genuine conductors from criminals who disguise themselves as transport workers.
Glory said the initiative is already being practised in some other states and described it as a step in the right direction.
The association also disclosed plans to organise training for conductors to improve their conduct and ensure they relate properly with passengers.
