The BOOT Party has announced the successful completion of its primary elections ahead of the 2027 general elections, producing candidates for the Rivers State governorship race and several State House of Assembly seats.
The primaries, held on May 29, 2026, were described by the publicity secretary of the party, Comrade Oyi Ozuka Thompson as transparent, credible, and in line with its constitution and electoral guidelines.
At the conclusion of the exercise, Amb. Abednego Oli Benjamin emerged as the BOOT Party’s governorship candidate for Rivers State.
According to the party, his emergence reflects the confidence reposed in his leadership qualities, commitment to good governance, and dedication to the development of the state.
Speaking after securing the ticket, Benjamin expressed appreciation to party members, leaders, and supporters for the trust placed in him. He pledged to provide purposeful leadership, promote inclusive development, create economic opportunities, and implement policies aimed at improving the welfare of Rivers residents.
The party also produced candidates for three State House of Assembly constituencies. Mr. Luke Lucky emerged as the candidate for Ahoada East Constituency I, while Rt. Hon. Oseja Amezhi Clifford secured the party’s ticket for Ahoada East Constituency II. Barr. Wey Deekae Saviour emerged as the party’s candidate for Khana Constituency II.
The BOOT Party congratulated all successful candidates and commended other aspirants who participated in the primaries for their maturity, sportsmanship, and commitment to democratic principles throughout the process.
The party further called on its members, supporters, stakeholders, and the general public to unite behind its candidates as preparations intensify for the 2027 elections.
