The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has warned Nigerians against a fraudulent website falsely claiming that the Commission has announced a new nationwide online voter registration exercise from September 28 to October 27, 2026.
In a public notice, the Commission described the website, https://tinyurl.com/inecnigeria-cvr-org, as fake and clarified that it is not affiliated with INEC.
The Commission cautioned members of the public against visiting the website or submitting personal information on it, warning that doing so could expose their sensitive data to theft or misuse.
INEC clarified that the nationwide voter registration exercise ended on July 26, 2026, adding that claims of a new registration exercise through the website were false.
The Commission urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and verify electoral information through its official communication channels.
