The screening committee for Rivers State House of Assembly Aspirants has reportedly described as false and unauthorised a list of purportedly cleared and uncleared aspirants currently circulating across various media platforms.

In a disclaimer, Hon. Tanko Yamowa Secretary of the Committee stated that the publication did not originate from any official channel or competent authority within the party structure.

According to him, the screening exercise conducted by the committee headed by Mauraina Ajibola was concluded less than 24 hours ago, stressing that no official list of screened aspirants has been released at this time.

The party emphasised that it operates strictly within established procedures, rules, and timelines governing the release of screening outcomes and related announcements. It added that any official communication regarding the status of aspirants would be made available through appropriate and verified channels in due course.

The committee, therefore urged members, aspirants, supporters, and the general public to disregard the circulating list, describing it as the handiwork of mischief makers seeking to cause confusion and unnecessary tension within the party.

Reaffirming its position, the committee restated its commitment to transparency, fairness, and due process throughout the screening and nomination exercise.
