The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially confirmed Rt. Hon. S.K.E Udeh Okoye as the party’s National Secretary following a meeting held on Wednesday.
The decision came after the NWC reviewed a memo presented by the Acting National Chairman on February 11, alongside supporting documents, including a declaratory judgment from the High Court of Enugu and a ruling from the Court of Appeal, Enugu Division, which recognized Udeh Okoye as the legitimate National Secretary. Legal opinions from Dr. Kabiru T. Turaki SAN and the PDP’s National Legal Adviser also supported this position.
In its resolution, the NWC emphasized its commitment to upholding the Court of Appeal’s judgment, noting that no higher court order contradicts the ruling. The committee has initiated the process of communicating its decision to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and other relevant authorities for formal recognition.
