The Oyo State Police Command has refuted reports claiming that pupils and teachers abducted from Ahoro Esiele and Yawota communities in Orire Local Government Area have regained their freedom.

In a statement, the Command described the reports as false, misleading, and without any factual basis. Police Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, stated that as of Thursday morning, there had been no such development and urged members of the public to disregard the information.

The Command assured residents of Oyo State and the families of the victims that efforts to secure their release are ongoing. According to Ayanlade, security agencies are conducting intensive and coordinated rescue operations, deploying all available personnel and resources to ensure the safe return of the abducted pupils and teachers.

He added that authorities remain committed to reuniting the victims with their families unharmed and bringing those responsible for the abduction to justice.
