The Omega Power Ministries (OPM) has announced plans to establish free phone charging centres across various locations to support Nigerians who struggle to afford basic phone charging services.
General Overseer of the church, Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere in a statement said, the initiative is designed to assist low-income individuals, noting that mobile phones have become essential for communication and everyday living.
“Many poor Nigerians find it difficult to charge their phones, yet phones are a necessity for communication and for everyone. That is why OPM will be establishing free phone charging centres in different locations,” he said
He stated that the centres will provide 100 percent free charging services and will be fully funded through tithes and offerings from the church.
In addition, the project is expected to create employment opportunities for youths, as operators of the centres will be placed on monthly salaries.
He further explained that users will be required to remain at the charging points while their phones are being charged to avoid mix-ups or loss of devices.
“Charging of phones shall be completely free of charge, but users must wait until their phones are fully charged to prevent claiming another person’s device,” the statement added.
The centres will be located in low-income communities to specifically cater to Nigerians most in need.
